The ms 08s was manufactured until 1994 and production continued until 2008 in Brazil. Apart from that the ms08 and ms08s engine was also used in at least 4 other Stihl products other than chainsaws. Production did however start in the 60 s yes.
Interesting! I have one that my dad bought in the 60s. He caught a lot of flack from the locals for buying a “foreign” saw! I reckon he had the last laugh. I have not used it in many years. The last time I did, it would not start. I took it to the local Stihl dealer and they fixed it for free and thanked me for allowing them to work on such an antique! I was astounded, to say the least!
