Husqvarna 120 is easy to use, all-around chainsaw for homeowners. Thanks to sufficient cutting performance the saw makes light work of cutting firewood, light felling or limbing. Features X-Torq® engine technology for low emissions and Air Injection that keeps the filter clean. Low kickback cutting equipment for increased safety.
Pros & Cons
- Lightweight
- Maneauverability
- Good value for money
- Not the best in it’s class
- Hard to start, especially on cold
- The carburetor may need tweaking
Conclusion
Husqvarna 120 is not without flaws. First of all, out of the box, you may need to tweak the carburetor a bit. And since it’s primarily for homeowners, not everyone will be skilled enough to do that on their own.
There’s also this weird phase with a new saw, where it doesn’t perform to its maximum potential in the first 2 or 3 uses. Once it gets over this weird initial period, it works as expected from Husqvarna. Even after you get through this, you may find it hard to start.
Those are the main cons I’ve noticed. If you can handle all of the above, then the 120 may suit you just fine. But I’d rather pick up a Husqvarna 135 Mark II. It has twice as many features, more power, and only costs a few bucks more.
Design
1. Air Purge
Removes air from carburetor and fuel system for easy starting.
2. Combined choke/stop control
Allows for easier starting and reduces the risk of engine flooding.
Safety
3. LowVib
System designed to reduce vibration levels to the operator, which lessens fatigue.
4. Inertia activated chain brake
Reduces the likelihood of injury due to kickback.
Performance
5. Air Injection
Centrifugal air cleaning system removes larger dust and debris particles before reaching the air filter. This results in reduced air filter cleanings and improved engine life.
6. X-Torq
The powerful and efficient X-Torq® engine cuts both engine emissions and fuel consumption. That improves your working environment and saves you money at the gas pump.
