Husqvarna 130 Review

If you’re looking for a chainsaw, that could handle different tasks around the house/yard, Husqvarna 130 might be just the thing you need. This 16” (40 cm) gas-powered chainsaw is easy to start and handle. Cutting firewood, pruning, or felling small trees won’t be a problem.

It comes with a 38cc (2.3 cubic inch) engine that produces a maximum of 2 horsepower, which is more than enough for any casual user. As expected with Husqvarna, the fit and finish are on-point. It’s only 10.36 lbs (4.69 kg), so you don’t exactly need to be a lumberjack to use it, even for longer periods of time.

As it fits into an entry-level category, it doesn’t have a ton of extra features. If not abused, the plastic clamshell case is plenty durable in most circumstances.

Pros & Cons

  • Powerful
  • Easy to use
  • Lightweight
  • Affordable
  • Some people report problems with the carburetor
  • Flimsy plastic handguard
  • Low-cost air filter

Conclusion

The 130 offers a good price/performance ratio, and overall it’s a solid chainsaw. If you decide to get one for yourself, be sure to buy bar and chain oil since it’s not included in the package.

  1. Yes, they should have the same chain size. You can check out this guide from Husqvarna: https://www.husqvarna.com/us/lawn-and-garden/buying-guides/bar-and-chain-fit-up-chart/
